About this deal

I’m thankful that such an easy, accessible book has been provided to help parents talk to their children about pornography. In my experience, the original version of the book is great for kids ages 7-12 and the younger kid version is best for kids ages 4-6. Bianca Noah is the Curriculum Coordinator for Defend Young Minds and is passionate about educating parents and children about the dangers of the digital world. Hablarles a los niños de sexo siempre ha sido un dolor de cabeza, pero en esta era digital que vivimos, no solo es tema de conversación el sexo, también lo es la pornografía que ahora llega con más facilidad y crudeza a los niños.

Then it introduces the idea that some pictures are actually bad for you to see because they show private body parts.

While I’d love for this to be written from a Christian perspective, I still highly recommend these books for your family. It is designed for 5 to 10 year olds, and it explains the workings of the brain, how addictions can develop, and most importantly of all, it gives children a strategy that includes practical steps to take if they are confronted with pornography.

The Brain Defense: Digital Safety Curriculum is one of the most important child protection measures that we take at our school. That’s why we made Brain Defense: Digital Safety as easy and comfortable as reading a short script and pushing play for the video to begin.facilita a los padres la tarea de proteger a sus hijos de edades comprendidas entre los 3 y los 6 años. I would highly recommend the Brain Defense curriculum to any school looking for ways to educate their students on this topic. The prevalence of pornography in our digital age and the weight of parental responsibility to guard our kids makes this a needed book.

But I have found I worry less about those things when I’m actively preparing my kids for what to do if it should happen. It uses little sticky notes in places to suggest when to bring in vocabulary, or to make sure your child understands certain concepts like "What does 'private' mean?

I would probably read this to a seven or eight year old, but I also just read it with my ten year old.

I very much want this topic to be an open discussion with my children as that seems the best way to help them. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Many parents fear that introducing the topic before the child knows what pornography is will, “awaken a desire” or curiosity and prove to be hurtful instead of helpful.
