About this deal

As I mentioned in my previous review, I’ve never bothered to start Cornwell’s work, it brings me joy when someone, a friend (even better again when it’s from one of your favorite authors) recommended a book/series to you and you loved it. Despite the gore and the ferocity of the battles, there's a nice balance with a lover affair between our main protagonist and narrator Derfel for the beautiful fair-haired Ceinwyn.

Jesus knew that there is not enough of you and me to properly “service” both God and worldliness in our lives. P. fans are going to disagree with me, but I liked the books toward the end better than the ones in the beginning. Enemy of God, the second book in 'The Warlord Chronicles' trilogy by Bernard Cornwell, and the series so far, has truly been serendipity for me.

He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. Other themes include: confrontations with the Saxon Kings, Cerdic and Aelle; the tale of Tristan and Iseult; difficulties with the crippled Mordred, whom Arthur wishes to be King; Guinevere’s unfaithfulness with Lancelot and his attempt to kill Arthur and take the throne; and the treachery and evil deeds of the Druid-twins, Dinas and Lavaine.

This is the greatest re-telling of the legend of King Arthur that exists, and takes everything that we we know about this myth and spins it in a wonderfully imaginative thriller of a read. I want to be like You, to think like You, and to please You in every part of my life — my family, my job, my relationships, and my finances. This series is being done on audio and I've enjoyed the narrator and look forward to the conclusion in book 3.Derfel hallucinates about Ceinwyn and sees a Dark Road and a ghoul, who Merlin tells him is Diwrnach, the vicious Irish king of Lleyn. When they find it, Cerdic arrives with Dinas and Lavaine and claims it as his own, since they are now in his kingdom.
