About this deal

One limitation is that the handbook is a UK publication so some of the drugs and dosing recommendations are not relevant to the Australian situation. Overall I applaud the authors for updating this publication, which is an extremely useful resource for guiding prescribing in patients with kidney impairment. First published in 1999, The Renal Drug Handbook has established itself as a universally-trusted, essential resource for healthcare practitioners.

Access monograph information through desktop, laptop or mobile devices, with this new, easy-to-use, frequently-updated online platform. The section on hemodialysis features expanded chapters on physiologic principles, acute hemodialysis, urea kinetic modeling, and vascular access, while the section on peritoneal dialysis has been extensively reworked by a new editor and now includes two new chapters.Aileen Dunleavy is the Senior Specialist Pharmacist for Renal Services at the University Hospital Crosshouse, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, with over 20 years of renal pharmacy experience. Our donations to The Rainbow Centre have helped provide an education and a safe haven to hundreds of children who live in appalling conditions. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). A universally-trusted resource, this fourth edition of The Renal Drug Handbook contains over 800 drug monographs comprising prescribing information for clinical and medicines information pharmacists.

This book combines the reference material of a nephrology textbook with the everyday relevance of a clinical handbook. Each monograph provides information on criteria including Clinical Use, Dose in Normal Renal Function, Dose in Renal Impairment, Important Drug Interactions, Metabolism and Administation, with information validated under the governance of the UK Renal Pharmacy Group. The Renal Drug Handbook: The Ultimate Prescribing Guide for Renal Practitioners, 5th Edition 5th Edition is written by Caroline Ashley; Aileen Dunleavy and published by CRC Press.

She is the co-editor of The Renal Drug Handbook and The Renal Drug Database and has contributed to the Introduction to Renal Therapeutics, Drugs in Use and Adverse Drug Reactions. Now in its updated Fourth Edition, this popular handbook is a practical guide for physicians and surgeons who manage kidney transplant patients and for nurses and other professionals on the transplant team.Understanding Kidney Diseases includes over 60 real-life case studies and is illustrated with over 200 figures. It goes beyond the basic texts on renal care by discussing topical issues such as anaemia management, care of older people on dialysis, diabetes and renal failure, infection control and sexual dysfunction in renal disease. She is the co-editor of both The Renal Drug Handbook and the Introduction to Renal Therapeutics, and sits on the editorial board of the British Journal of Renal Medicine. The NICE British National Formulary (BNF) site is only available to users in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). The Renal Drug Handbook provides essential information on drug dosing in patients with different levels of kidney function.
